Green Design Sometimes it’s as simple as using a funny looking light bulb! Little things can make a big difference. Locke Design is committed to practices that help to sustain our natural resources, conserve energy and prevent pollution. We believe in design and business practices that sustain resources and that small businesses working together can make a large impact. Doing Our Part Here’s a list of some of the small ways Locke Design tries to help our environment. -Recycling paper, cardboard metal, glass and plastic products, -Purchasing appliances and technology that are Energy Star Compliant and are more energy efficient than required by law, -Using compact florescent lighting when possible, which use less energy and produce less carbon emissions, -Creating power settings on our technology which turn computers and other equipment off when not in immediate use and reduces phantom energy loss., -Using recycled paper and paper products, -Recycling toner cartridges from our laser printers, -When possible purchasing products that are made from sustainable resources and organic processes, -Using green cleaning products in our office which are biodegradable and promote a non-toxic work environment and protect the water supply, -Creating a cleaner air environment by growing plants in our office and utilizing air filtering technology, -Using water filters to reduce the need for plastic water bottles, -Creating electronic documents and communications that eliminate the need for paper, printing inks and toners for our firm and our clients, -Offering printing options to our clients that are environmentally sound, -Patronizing other businesses which have a green philosophy, -Being an advocate for Green Business and Design Practices.For more information on Green practices visit www.wecansolveit.org.
